Around 1200 the place was first mentioned as "Baynbach", 1300 as "Paimbach", 1396 as "Beinbach", 1403 as "Baynbach" and 1415 as "Obernpeimbach". In the Margravial Salbuch of 1434, only a slope of one Vogthuhn per year is recorded for “Obernpemmbach” . The 4 estates and the Seldengut were subordinate to foreign owners. Only in 1623 was 1 property under the Brandenburg-Ansbach hospital in Schwabach . There were also 3 other properties that were Nurembergish. In 1732 there were 9 properties in Oberbaimbach, according to the descriptions of the upper office by Johann Georg Vetter , of which 2 properties were subordinate to the Schwabach Hospital, 1 property was owned by the mayor and council of Schwabach, 1 property was given to the rich alms of the imperial city of Nuremberg, 5 properties were owned by Nuremberg owners ( from Harsdorf : 2, from Pömer : 1, from Tucher : 1, from Förster: 1). At the end of the 18th century there were 9 properties in Oberbaimbach. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Schwabach . The caste office Schwabach held the village and community rulership. The landlords were the Principality of Ansbach ( city judge Schwabach : 1 Gütlein; Spital Schwabach: 2 whole yards) and Nuremberg owners (von Harsdorf: 2 half yards; von Pömer: 1 quarter yard; von Tucher: 1 half yard; von Örtel: 1 Gütlein). In 1802 there were still 9 properties in the village with the same manorial division.

As part of the community edict, Oberbaimbach was assigned to the Dietersdorf tax district , Section II , in 1808 . It also belonged to the Dietersdorf rural community formed in 1818 . On October 14, 1959, the community was renamed Wolkersdorf . On July 1, 1972, Oberbaimbach was reclassified to Schwabach as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
