The Castle Polsingen even Wöllwarth'sches moated castle called, is a palace in Polsingen , a municipality in the Middle Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . The moated castle is registered under the monument number D-5-77-162-1 as an architectural monument in the Bavarian monument list. The building is also designated as a ground monument under the number D-5-7030-0152. The postal address is Wilhelm-Löhe -Ring 2 .

The palace is located east of the town center at a height of 447 meters above  sea ​​level . It has a rectangular moat, a wall with round towers and a three-storey main building. The three- story hipped roof building probably dates from the middle of the 17th century. The four corner towers of the former fortification, the rear ones in fragments, date back to the 16th century , like the defensive wall . The iron garden fountain is from 1858. The castle chapel was set up in a 17th or 18th century stable at the end of the 19th century.

Polsingen Castle was built by the Lords of See . It was bought by Margrave Casimir von Brandenburg in 1517/18 to the Margrave of Brandenburg . In 1580 Hans Sigismund von Wöllwarth bought the castle. The Lords of Wöllwarth kept the castle until 1857. Then it was acquired by Wilhelm Löhe from Neuendettelsau , who had used it as an institution building since 1865. Today it belongs to the Diakonie Neuendettelsau .
