The Stopfenheim Castle is located in Stopfenheim , a district of Ellingen in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia , with the address An der Vogtei 2 .

The previous building was a moated castle that was demolished in the early 18th century. In 1716, the current castle was built as the bailiwick of the Teutonic Order by the master builder Franz Keller in the baroque style over the foundation walls of the previous building. The castle is a four-wing complex with a moat built around a rectangular courtyard . From 1824 to 1964 the building served as a rectory and in 1975 it came into private ownership. In 1994 Paul Neumann from Munich bought the castle and had it renovated.

On the facade are the coats of arms of Franz Ludwig von Pfalz-Neuburg and the regional commander Philipp von Gelnhausen and Franz von Lehrbach.
