Approx. The Egertenhöhe ( 405  m above sea level ) is 0.75 km to the southwest . A community road leads to Neuschauerberg to state road 2244 (0.3 km northwest) or to a community road (1.1 km southeast) that leads to Emskirchen (1.8 km north) or to Dürrnbuch to district road NEA 19 (1.3 km south).

history

The place was first mentioned by name in 1361/64 in the castle counts Salbuch as "Schaurberg under der Puerg". At that time it was an office of the Burgraviate of Nuremberg, which u. a. the places Bräuersdorf , Dürrnbuch , Ebersbach , Eckenberg , Gunzendorf , Hohholz and Pirkach were subordinate. The Alt-Schauerberg, once considered a robber barons nest, was formerly owned by Eppelein von Gailingen . In 1421 Michael von Rennhofen received the castle property "Schawerberg" from Margrave Friedrich I. as a fief. Like the Rennhofen office, the Schauerberg office was assigned to the Emskirchen office in 1464, which at that time had a Fraischrichter who judged blood, trade and neck . The name "Alt-Schauerberg" has only been attested since 1801 to distinguish it from the Neuschauerberg settlement, which was only established in the 18th century.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 8 properties in Altschauerberg (1 mill, 6 estates, 1 drip estate ). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Fraischvogteiamt Emskirchen-Hagenbüchach . The Emskirchen caste and jurisdiction office held the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties .

In 1810 Altschauerberg came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, it was assigned to the Emskirchen tax district formed in 1811 . It also belonged to the municipality of Emskirchen , which was formed in 1813 . With the second community edict (1818), the rural community Schauerberg was formed, to which the place belonged. On January 1, 1970, before the regional reform in Bavaria , the community of Schauerberg was incorporated into Emskirchen.

A popular hiking destination is the 14th century castle ruin Schauerberg in a beech forest above Altschauerberg . It is popularly called "Eppala".

Trivia

The district gained national fame because of a YouTuber living there , whose publications have repeatedly attracted larger groups of onlookers , fans and opponents since 2014 . This resulted in considerable nuisance in the neighborhood and sometimes serious crimes to the detriment of the blogger. After the Internet called for a "storm" on the man's house on August 20, 2018 , the Neustadt an der Aisch district office issued a ban on assembly . Despite the ban, according to the police, between 600 and 800 people appeared in the small town that day, which resulted in the deployment of a large contingent and the initiation of investigations against several hundred people present for violations of the Assembly Act . Towards the end of 2018, the security report of the Central Franconian Police Headquarters recently found a sharp decline in the frequency of the occurrence of the incidents mentioned. On certain occasions such as the YouTuber's birthday, local police are still required.
