Marquardsburg is a district of the Eckental market in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Middle Franconia .

location

The former hamlet has now opened up in the new development area of ​​the Eckenhaid district as the Marquardsburg municipal road. It is located on the Eckenbach , a left tributary of the Schwabach . The Eckenmühle is located directly to the west across the stream .

history

At the end of the 18th century, Marquardsburg consisted of an estate. The high court exercised the Nuremberg nursing authority Lauf . The rulership of Eckenhaid held the manor .

As part of the community edict, Marquardsburg was assigned to the tax district and rural community of Herpersdorf formed in 1808 . With the second community edict (1818) it was part of the newly formed rural community Eckenhaid . In the voluntary jurisdiction, the place was subordinate to the patrimonial Eckenhaid.

On July 1, 1972, Marquardsburg was incorporated into the newly formed municipality of Eckental as part of the regional reform .
