Forth is a place in the market town of Eckental ( Erlangen-Höchstadt district ) in Middle Franconia with around 3300 inhabitants.
geography
The village borders the Büg district to the east . About 200 m to the north is Frohnhof , to the east Ebach and to the south Eckenhaid . Bundesstraße 2 runs through the village as Forther Hauptstraße.
history
The founding of the places Forth (farm) and Büg (manorial manor) by the imperial barons of Gotzmann took place between 1050 and 1150. In 1611 the manor Büg passed into the possession of the Lords of Bünau. In 1925 the political amalgamation of Forth and Büg took place. For centuries, the Jewish community promoted Forth's development into an important trading center in the Erlanger Oberland. This part of Forther's history ended with the deportation of the Jewish citizens in the pogrom night on November 11, 1938. Until the regional reform in Bavaria , Forth was an independent community with the districts of Büg and Frohnhof. Forth has been part of the market town of Eckental since 1972 .
