The list of castles and palaces in Bavaria / Lower Franconia is a directory of historical places such as castles , palaces , mansions , fortresses , moths , castle stables and fortified churches on the territory of today's Lower Franconia administrative district, divided into independent cities and districts. Ornamental and replicas that were never used as residential buildings or for defense are not listed .
