Crailsheim Castle (Rödelsee)
The Crailsheim Castle in Rodelsee , a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen ( Bayern ), was built around the 1600th The former castle at Schloßstraße 2 is a protected architectural monument .
history
The two-storey saddle roof building with volute gables and outside staircase was built around 1600 for the Barons of Crailsheim . The courtyard gate is decorated with lions from the 18th century on both sides.
In 1954 the local winegrowers' cooperative bought the castle and the outbuildings. Today the Franconian winegrowers' cooperative operates a wine gallery in the building . The winery was relocated to Repperndorf years ago . The castle is listed by the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments, while the remains of the previous building in the ground are classified as a ground monument.
