history
Lentersheim is a settlement named after its founder "Lanthar" from the Allamann-Franconian conquest of the 5th and 6th centuries. Century. The first wooden church was probably built as early as the 6th century.
In 1331 Heilsbronn Monastery received parish patronage from Count Ludwig von Oettingen . In 1336 the slopes of a property were bought in the monastery, which was originally owned by Anna von Lentersheim . In 1342 the local pastor Heinrich Bolans donated his fields to the monastery. In total, the monastery acquired inclines and the large tenth of 11 properties there.
During the Thirty Years' War , Lentersheim was badly hit, but not cremated. Before the war there were said to have been 60 households in Lentersheim, after the war there were 28 households. The numerous exiles who had to leave their home in Austria because of the Counter-Reformation and who found refuge and the chance for a new beginning contributed to the resurgence of the place.
Lentersheim was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Wassertrüdingen . The village and township government had the box office Wassertrüdingen held. At the end of the 18th century there were 80 properties in Lentersheim. There was also a church, a parsonage, a schoolhouse, and a community pastor's house. Were landlords

From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Wassertrüdingen .
In 1806 Lentersheim came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As a result of the municipal edict , the Lentersheim tax district was formed in 1809 , to which the towns of Hammerschmiede , Klarhof , Klarmühle , Kreuthof , Kussenhof , Schwandmühle and Ziegelhütte belonged. Two rural communities emerged at the same time :
- Dambach with hammer mill, Kreuthof, brickworks
- Lentersheim with Klarhof, Klarmühle, Kussenhof and Schwandmühle.
The municipality of Lentersheim had an area of 9.018 km². In administration and jurisdiction it was subordinate to the Wassertrüdingen Regional Court and the Wassertrüdingen Rent Office ( renamed Wassertrüdingen Tax Office in 1919 , Gunzenhausen Tax Office 1932–1973 , Ansbach Tax Office from 1973 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Wassertrüdingen until 1879, from 1879 to 1956 the district court Wassertrüdingen was responsible, from 1956 to 1970 the district court Gunzenhausen and from 1970 to 1973 the district court Dinkelsbühl , which has been a branch of the district court Ansbach since 1973 . The administration was taken over by the newly created Dinkelsbühl district office in 1862 (renamed the Dinkelsbühl district in 1938 ).
