Andorf is a district of the market Dietenhofen in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The Bibert and the Fällbrunnenbach flow through the village, where it flows into the Bibert as a left tributary. A little further to the east, the Lohbächlein flows into the Bibert as a right tributary. Immediately to the west is Frickendorf .

To the north-east of Andorf, a wooded mountain height has the name Burgstall . On the basis of archaeological finds it is assumed that there was a castle there ( Burgstall Andorf ). From there you had a good overview of the Biberttal and at the same time you could check the Rothenburger Straße , which ran as an elevated road .

history

Andorf was first mentioned in a document as "Anindorf" in 1234, when the Heilsbronn monastery purchased goods there. In 1516, the 25th Abbot Bamberger acquired several fields in Andorf through exchange. The monastery came into possession of two properties. There was a chapel in the village, first attested in 1347. In the 18th century, preaching took place there once a year, in 1822 for the last time under the Priest Beck. The chapel has now been torn down and only its location is known.

At the end of the 18th century there were six properties in Andorf. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth municipal bailiff's office in Markt Erlbach . The village and community rulership changed annually between the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste office Neuhof and the manor Rügland of the Lords of Crailsheim . The landlords were the Kastenamt Neuhof (1 yard, 1 yard half, 2 estates, 1 mill), the manor Rügland (1 estate) and the Nuremberg owner von Imhoff (1 yard half). At that time there were 10 subject families, 9 of which were Bavarian. From 1797 to 1810 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Markt Erlbach and Chamber Office Neuhof .

In 1810 Andorf came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, it was assigned to the Dietenhofen tax district formed in 1811 . In 1813 the rural community Ebersdorf was formed, to which Andorf also belonged. One property was subject to the Rügland Patrimonial Court in voluntary jurisdiction until 1848.

The mill was rebuilt after fires in 1914 and 1928 and ceased operations in 1966. On July 1, 1969, before the regional reform in Bavaria , they were incorporated into Dietenhofen. A settlement with weekend houses was built on a slope south of the castle stables .
