Kehlmünz (colloquially: Kelmínts ) is a district of the market Dietenhofen in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The Haselbach (also called Haslach), a right tributary of the Bibert, flows through the hamlet of Kehlmünz . In the northeast is the young wood , in the southwest the Mühlleite corridor . The place is on the state road 2246 , which connects Kleinhaslach (1.3 km southwest) or past Münchzell with Großhabersdorf (5 km northeast). An agricultural traffic route leads to Markttriebendorf (1.7 km southeast).

history

The place was first mentioned by name in 1142 as "Chalmince". Comparable place names can be found more often in German-speaking countries (e.g. Kellmünz an der Iller , Kallmünz , Kalmünten ) and are all probably of Celtic origin with the meaning of near the mountain of protection or escape . It is assumed that the Kehlmünz escape mountain was located in the densely forested area that was almost not populated during the Hallstatt period. The area has probably been populated without interruption since then. The place was from 1138 to 1254 an imperial place of the Staufer , from 1235 the Heilsbronn monastery acquired four farms there.

In the 16-point report of the Heilsbronn monastery office from 1608, four teams are listed for Kehlmünz, all of which had the Bonnhof caste office as landlord . In addition to the four courtyards, there was also a communal shepherd's house. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach .

At the end of the 18th century there were eight properties in Kehlmünz. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth city bailiff's office in Markt Erlbach to a limited extent. If necessary, it had to be delivered to the Brandenburg-Ansbach judges office in Roßtal . The village and community rulership was held by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste office Bonnhof. The sole landlord was the Principality of Bayreuth (box office Bonnhof: 1 courtyard, 3 half-yards, 2 houses, 1 community pastor's house ; box office Dietenhofen : 1 courtyard, 1 mill). From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Cadolzburg .

In 1806 Kehlmünz came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Kehlmünz was assigned to the Bürglein tax district, formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Bürglein, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818), Kehlmünz broke up with Hörleinsdorf and Münchzell from Bürglein and formed a rural community. It was subject to the Heilsbronn Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and the Windsbach Rent Office in the financial administration . From 1862 to 1879 Kehlmünz was administered by the Heilsbronn District Office , since 1880 by the Ansbach District Office (renamed the Ansbach District in 1938 ) and the Heilsbronn Rent Office (1920–1929: Heilsbronn Tax Office , from 1929: Ansbach Tax Office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Heilsbronn until 1879, 1880–1956 district court Heilsbronn , since 1956 district court Ansbach . The municipality had an area of 6.003 km². On July 1, 1972, Kehlmünz was incorporated into Dietenhofen as part of the regional reform .

The mill in Kehlmünz was still being used to generate electricity in the 1980s.
