Walburgswinden is a district of the market Dietenhofen in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The wasteland lies north of the elevated road that has existed since the Middle Ages and connected Nuremberg with Rothenburg ob der Tauber . The Altbach flows past the place, which is a left tributary of the Bibert . In the south lies the Hackenfeld , in the northeast lies the oak wood . Walburgswinden is located 200 meters north of the state road 2245 near Neudorf . The nearest stop is in Neudorf.

history

Walburgswinden was first mentioned in 1333 together with Dietenholz . The name means "to the Wends of a Walburg", so it is a settlement originally created by the Wends . The wasteland is also known as the "Executioner's Court", as the executioner lived here in the Middle Ages. The half-timbered house served as an excursion restaurant until the 1990s.

Towards the end of the 18th century there was an estate in Walburgswinden. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth municipal bailiff's office in Markt Erlbach . The estate was owned by the Dietenhofen caste office as landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Bayreuth, Walburgswinden was given house number 18 in Neudorf. From 1797 to 1810 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Markt Erlbach and Chamber Office Neuhof .

In 1810 Walburgswinden came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, it was assigned to the Hirschneuse tax district formed in 1811 . In 1813 the rural community of Hirschneuses was formed, to which Walburgswinden also belonged. With the second community edict (1818), the reorganization into the newly formed rural community of Neudorf took place . On January 1, 1972, this was incorporated into the Dietenhofen market as part of the regional reform .
