The Markgrafenweg and the Hohenzollernweg cross in the village .

history

The place was first mentioned by name in 1249 as "Horlinstdorf" in a document which testifies that the Heilsbronn monastery acquired four farms there. The meaning of the place name remains unclear, a personal name Horlin is not proven. It is conceivable that it is derived from the Old High German "hor, horwes" (= swamp, dirt, excrement), as is the case, for example, with the place name Hürbel .

In the 16-point report of the Heilsbronn Monastery Office from 1608, four teams are listed for Hörleinsdorf, all of which had the Bonnhof caste office as landlord (three farmers, one Köbler ). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach . In the Thirty Years' War the farms became deserted.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were seven properties in Hörleinsdorf (4 half courtyards, 1 estate, 1 house, 1 community pastor's house). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth city bailiff's office in Markt Erlbach to a limited extent. If necessary, it had to be delivered to the Brandenburg-Ansbach judges office in Roßtal . The Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste office Bonnhof held the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties. From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Cadolzburg .

As part of the municipal edict, Hörleinsdorf was assigned to the Bürglein tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Bürglein, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818) Hörleinsdorf was changed into the newly formed rural community Kehlmünz . This was incorporated into the Dietenhofen market on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform .
