Rothleiten is a district of the market Dietenhofen in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The Bibert flows directly south of the hamlet and the Altbach flows into the Bibert as a left tributary. The Sommerleite corridor joins it in the west and the Moosleite in the southwest . The place is a little off the county road AN 11 , which leads to Dietenhofen (2 km west) or to Lentersdorf (1.1 km east). A community road leads to Herpersdorf (0.5 km north).

history

Rothleiten was created around 1812. A name was first mentioned in 1813 as "Rothleithen". The place name probably refers to a "mountain slope with red earth". The place name is possibly also derived from the district courtyard, the so-called "Red Court", which is said to have stood on the old trade route Münchzell - Rosenberg .

In 1813 the rural community Seubersdorf was formed, to which Rothleiten also belonged. With the second community edict (1818), the reorganization into the newly formed rural community Herpersdorf took place . On January 1, 1970, before the regional reform in Bavaria , it was incorporated into Dietenhofen.

Only in the last few decades a small settlement emerged next to the single courtyard.
