history

The farm was founded in the early 14th century at the latest. In 1333 this was first mentioned in a document as "Dientholz". The defining word of the place name is the personal name Deoto or Dieto, who can be seen as the founder of the settlement. The Heilsbronn Monastery acquired two properties there a little later. Only in the second half of the 17th century did the wasteland become a hamlet consisting of several courtyards.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were five households in Dietenholz (2 half farms, 1 estate, 2 little estates). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth municipal bailiff's office in Markt Erlbach . The Neuhof caste office held the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties . From 1797 to 1810 the place was subordinate to the Justice Office Markt Erlbach and Chamber Office Neuhof .

In 1810 Dietenholz came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, it was assigned to the Hirschneuse tax district formed in 1811 . In 1813 the rural community of Hirschneuses was formed, to which Dietenholz also belonged. With the second community edict (1818), the reorganization into the newly formed rural community of Neudorf took place . On January 1, 1972, this was incorporated into the Dietenhofen market as part of the regional reform .
