history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1311.

The Fraisch over Zwernberg was controversial. It was claimed by both the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen and the Oberamt Dürrwangen in Oettingen- Spielberg . The imperial city of Dinkelsbühl wanted to assert them on their property. The village and community rulership was inherited by the Ansbach caste office Feuchtwangen , the imperial city of Dinkelsbühl and the Zwernberg manor.

In 1732 the place consisted of 17 properties, 1 church, 1 little castle with a ring wall belonging to the Barons of Berga and 1 shepherd's house. The landlords were the Ansbach administration office Forndorf (1 estate), the Teutonic Order (a grinding mill, six estates and houses), the imperial city of Dinkelsbühl (1 courtyard, 1 estate) and the Zwernberg manor (2 courtyards, 5 estates).

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 16 properties plus the stately, communal and church buildings. The landlords were the Forndorf administration office (1 estate), the Dinkelsbühl Obervogteiamt of the Teutonic Order (1 mill, 1 yard, 1 estate, 3 estate), the imperial city of Dinkelsbühl (council office: 1 yard; hospital: 1 estate) and the Zwernberg estate (1st floor) Hofgütlein, 1 Gut, 1 Lehengut, 1 Köblergut , 2 Köblergütlein, 1 Handroßgut). From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .

In 1806 Zwernberg came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . With the community edict in 1809, Zwernberg was assigned to the tax district and the rural community Weidelbach . With the second community edict (1818), the rural community Zwernberg was formed. It was subordinate to the Dinkelsbühl regional court in terms of administration and jurisdiction and to the Dinkelsbühl tax office ( renamed Dinkelsbühl tax office in 1919 , Ansbach tax office since 1973 ). The jurisdiction remained with the District Court of Dinkelsbühl until 1879, from 1879 to 1973 the District Court of Dinkelsbühl was responsible, which has been a branch of the District Court of Ansbach since 1973 . The administration was taken over by the newly created Dinkelsbühl district office in 1862 (renamed the Dinkelsbühl district in 1938 ). In the voluntary jurisdiction, 11 properties were subordinate to the Patrimonial Court Zwernberg (1799-1809 and 1821-1831). From 1809 to 1829 these properties were subordinate to the Feuchtwangen district court . In 1961 the municipality had an area of 2.752 km². As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , this was incorporated into Schopfloch on May 1, 1978.
