history
In the 11th century Eysölden belonged to a sister of the Bishop of Mainz . In 1068 the place was first mentioned in a document as "Isselde". The basic word is “selida” ( ahd. For house), defining word for the personal name “Isi”, who can be seen as the founder of the place.
After the Second World War , many expellees settled in Eysölden.
The districts Neumühle and Ziegelhütte belonged to the formerly independent market . In 1972, as part of the municipal reform , the municipalities of Offenbau and Pyras were first incorporated, before Eysölden itself and all of its districts came to Thalmässing on May 1, 1978.
