history

The mill, which was destroyed in the Thirty Years War , was rebuilt after the war by the Margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach and was therefore called "Neumühle". It was first mentioned in 1649 as "New Mühl", the first miller was called Michael Leusslein.

Towards the end of the Old Kingdom , around 1800, the Neumühle was subordinate to the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste office of Stauf as a subject property. The high jurisdiction exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Stauf-Landeck. Ecclesiastically, the mill was (and is) assigned to the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Eysölden.

In the new Kingdom of Bavaria (1806) the mill came to the tax district of Eysölden in 1808 . During the reorganization of 1811 and the formation of the community in 1818, the mill remained in the now rural community of Eysölden. In the district court of Raitenbuch since 1809 , the municipality of Eysölden and with it Neumühle came to the district court of Greding in 1812 and to the district office and rent office Hilpoltstein in 1879.

By the 19th century at the latest, the mill was not only a grinding and agricultural operation, but also a sawmill. In 1875 the miller kept three head of cattle.

In 1909, the current owners, the Barth family, took over Neumühle with the attached economy through marriage. In the years after 1945, the overshot waterwheel was replaced by a Francis turbine and the grinding works were modernized. The mill building and the residential building were also extended. Since fewer and fewer farmers gave milling orders because they no longer bake their own bread, the milling operation was stopped in 1972. In 1980 agriculture was also given up, but the sawmill was renewed and enlarged. In it are made of local wood sawing mainly beams and boards for contractors, builders and distributors made.

As part of the municipal reform , the municipality of Eysölden and with it Neumühle was incorporated into Thalmässing in the Roth district on May 1, 1978.
