Waizenhofen is a district of the Markt Thalmässing in the Central Franconian district of Roth in Bavaria .
location
The village is surrounded by fields and meadows around two kilometers south of Thalmässing. The Hagenicher Mühlbach rises in a forest to the northeast and flows over the Thalach into the Schwarzach .
history
Waizenhofen was first mentioned in a document in 1150 as a tithing obligation to Eichstätt . The place is named after the court of a wazo. In the Thirty Years' War he was badly affected, many farms were deserted. From 1655 onwards a slow reconstruction took place through immigrant exiles from Upper Austria .
In 1921 Waizenhofen got an electricity connection, in 1930 a water pipe. The formerly independent municipality was incorporated into Thalmässing in 1972 as part of the municipal reform.
