The Cadre 45/1 World Championship in 1927 was the first Cadre 45/1 UIFAB World Championship, which was held in Cadre 45/1 until 1938 and from 1967 in Cadre 47/1. The tournament took place in Vichy from June 25th to 29th, 1927 . It was the first Cadre 45/1 World Championship in France.

history

The American Francis S. Appleby, who was in Paris at the time and wanted to take part in the General Assembly of the Union Internationale des Fédérations des Amateurs de Billard (UIFAB) in Cologne , suggested the introduction of a Cadre 45/1 World Championship. In America this discipline was very popular with professionals. He also donated a trophy in honor of the founder of the international billiards association Fédération des Sociétés Françaises des Amateurs de Billiards (FSFAB) Raymond de Drée. The cup was called the de Drée cup . With Vichy an organizer for this very difficult discipline was found. The best Cadre 45/1 players Roger Conti and Edmond Soussa were missing from this tournament. Since the discipline was new and was included in the international sports calendar at relatively short notice, the participating players could not prepare so intensively. It was played very defensively and the best gang player Charles Faroux won the tournament with a general average (GD) of 7.50 . Second place went to Albert Poensgen , who also had the best individual average (BED) with 20.00 . Since it was the first world championship in Cadre 45/1, the best results were also amateur world records. The professionals in America and Europe had done much better.

Tournament mode

It was played in the round robin system up to 300 points. In the event of a tie in MPs (except in the event of a tie for the winner), the following order will be used:

  1. MP = match points
  2. GD = general average
  3. HS = maximum series
