The Cadre 47/1 World Championship in 1967 was the first Cadre 47/1 UMB World Championship, which was held in Cadre 45/1 until 1938. The tournament took place in Marseille from October 25th to 29th, 1967 . It was the third Cadre 47/1 World Championship in Marseille, two of which were held in Cadre 45/1.
history
After 1931 and 1937, when the championship was still held in Cadre 45/1, Marseille hosted this world championship again. The first world championship in Cadre 47/1 met with great interest from the audience. On the opening day, 800 spectators followed the games. On the day of the final it was 1,500. The championship was open until the last round of the game. Three players could still become world champions. In the last round, Jean Marty met José Gálvez and Henk Scholte met Henri Hibon. Marty won 300: 185 in 10 shots against Gálvez and Scholte against Hibon 300: 140 in 15 shots. Marty secured the title with the better general average (GD). He only lost to Scholte. Scholte had arrived very late for the World Cup and had to play on his arrival and lost with his worst tournament performance against Gálvez. Against the Berlin Dieter Müller Scholte ensured the brilliant performance of this world championship. In the third shot he finished the game with a final series of 299 points and thus achieved world records in the highest series (HS) and with 100.00 in the best individual average (BED).
Tournament mode
A final round in the round robin system up to 300 points was played. In the event of a tie in the MPs, the following order is taken:
- MP = match points
- GD = general average
- HS = maximum series
