Carsten Gosdeck (born March 12, 1979 in Cologne ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with Moskitos Essen from the ice hockey league since 2018 .

Career

Gosdeck began playing ice hockey at the age of four in the junior division of the Cologne EC . He wears the shirt number 97 after his first year as a professional in the 1997/98 season with the Revierlöwen Oberhausen , in whose team he - except for the 1999/2000 season , where he played at EC Bad Nauheim - was used until the 2001/02 season . After the Revierlöwen left the DEL in the summer of 2002, he stayed in the DEL and switched to the Iserlohn Roosters , from whom he moved to the 2nd Bundesliga after 30 missions during the 2002/03 season in Bad Nauheim . After the end of the game operations of EC Bad Nauheim in summer 2004, he moved to the Krefeld Penguins for the 2004/05 season .

In the summer of 2005 Gosdeck returned to the 2nd Bundesliga , where he was initially under contract with the Moskitos Essen until the end of 2006/07 . At the end of 2006 his contract was terminated and Gosdeck moved to EV Landsberg for the rest of the season before signing a contract for the 2007/08 season with the Lausitzer Füchsen . After he played a key role in keeping up the league with the Lausitzer Füchsen with 56 points in 58 games, he moved to league rivals SC Riessersee in summer 2008 . There he was used by coach Kim Collins only in the fourth attack row and did not feel well. Therefore, he returned to the Lausitzer Füchsen in January 2009.

For the 2010/11 season Gosdeck received a contract with Fischtown Pinguins from Bremerhaven , for which he played until 2012. He struggled with several injuries, including having his spleen removed in Bolzano in August 2011 .

In May 2015 he moved from the Eislöwen to the DEL2 relegated Heilbronner Falken in the upper league.

His greatest sporting successes were reaching a playoff quarter-final in the DEL with the Revierlöwen and three participations in the playoff semi-finals in the 2nd Bundesliga, twice with the EC Bad Nauheim and once with the Lausitzer Füchsen. During the summer months Gosdeck lives with his girlfriend Isabelle in Bad Nauheim , where he trains the U18 team of the Bad Nauheim Grizzlys and is active as an inline hockey player himself . In summer 2009 he looked after the Grizzlys as a player-coach.

On January 29, 2017, Carsten Gosdeck played his 1000th professional game at the age of 37.

In April 2017 he moved from the EC Hannover Indians to the Black Dragons in Erfurt.
