Castelsilano is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) in the province of Crotone in Calabria with 935 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). The parish is about 35 kilometers northwest of Crotone . The harvest flows through the municipality .

history

The municipality was created in 1811 with the name Casino from the village called Castrum Casini (originated around 1685). The municipality has had its current name since 1950. In 1980 a Libyan MiG-23 crashed in the municipality ( Strage di Ustica , see Itavia flight 870 ).
