Cirò Marina is an Italian commune in the province of Crotone in the Calabria region with 14,547 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is 37 km north of Crotone and 122 km east of Cosenza .

geography

The place extends along the coast of the Ionian Sea between the Lupuda River and Cape Punta Alice. This prominent point was chosen by the Greeks in ancient times to build a temple of Apollo , of which only the foundations have been preserved.

The neighboring towns are Cirò and Melissa .
