Verzino is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) in the province of Crotone in Calabria with 1701 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). The municipality is located about 35 kilometers northwest of Crotone and borders directly on the province of Cosenza .

history

According to legend, Verzino is said to have been built by the Greek hero Philoctetes . In any case, the settlement finds suggest a settlement since the 4th and 3rd centuries BC.
