The Championnat National ( German National Championship ) is the top division of men's football in Martinique . The league was founded in 1919 and is hosted by the national football association Ligue de football de la Martinique (LFM). The league consists of 14 teams, at the end of a season the four worst-placed teams relegate to the second-rate Promotion d'Honneur .
Teams from the National Championships only took part in the CFU Club Championship three times . Aiglon du Lamentin reached the semi-finals in 1998, Club Franciscain withdrew in 2002 to participate in the Coupe de France and won the CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield in 2018 .
