Charles De Ketelaere (born March 10, 2001 in Bruges ) is a Belgian football player who is under contract with the first division club Bruges . The attacking midfielder has been a Belgian U19 international since September 2019 .
Career
society
Charles De Ketelaere comes from the youth department of Club Bruges , where he signed his first professional contract on June 17th, 2019. He made his debut for the first team on September 25, 2019 in a 3-0 away win in the Cup against Francs Borains . He made his league debut on November 22, 2019 (16th match day) in a 2-0 home win against KV Ostend , when he came on for Hans Vanaken in the 76th minute of the game . In the next few weeks he established himself as a substitute and in February 2020 the attacking midfielder under head coach Philippe Clement even made it into the starting lineup. On February 5, 2020, the 18-year-old scored the decisive goal for the 2-1 victory in the semi-finals of the cup against SV Zulte Waregem after being substituted on, and thus his first goal in the Blauw-Zwart jersey . In the 2019/20 season , he played 13 league games in which he scored one goal and one assist . In April 2020, his contract was extended until the end of the 2022/23 season.
National team
From March to April 2017, Charles De Ketelaere played four international matches for the Belgian U16 national team , in which he scored one goal. From October 2017 to April 2018 he played four games for the U17s , in which he scored twice.
He has been a Belgian U19 international since September 2019 .
