Federico Ricca , full name Federico Ricca Rostagnol , (born December 1, 1994 in Tarariras ) is a Uruguayan football player . He will be under contract with Club Bruges from the 2019/20 season .

Career

Ricca from Tarariras is the son of Alejandro and Leticia. He has a brother named Matías. According to his club, Ricca is a 1.79 meter tall defensive or midfielder. He first played for Maracaná . As a 15-year-old, he was part of the U-18 department team of Colonia, trained by Carlos Rodríguez , where he was champion of the interior (Campéon del Interior) in the 2010/11 season. In the finals against the selection of the Department Durazno he was in the starting line-up. Ricca then moved to Danubio's youth team in July 2011 at the age of 16 . Although he was actually still eligible to play for the team of the Cuarta División , he was already in the U-23 team of the Tercera División in 2012/13 . Towards the end of the 2012/13 season he was pulled up to the first team. There Ricca made his debut on August 18, 2013 in the game of the 1st match day of Apertura 2013 at Cerro Largo FC with a starting eleven in the Primera División . Directly on his second professional appearance, he was sent off the field on the second day of the match against Club Atlético Cerro . In the 2013/14 season, in which his team won the Apertura 2013 as first in the table and became Uruguayan champions at the end of the season, he played 23 first division games and scored three goals. In the 2014/15 season he was used in 29 top division games (one goal), two games (no goal) of the Copa Sudamericana 2014 and four games (no goal) of the Copa Libertadores 2015 . During Apertura 2015, he was used in 15 first division games (no goal) and two games (no goal) of the 2015 Copa Sudamericana . On February 2, 2016, he was presented as a new addition to the Spanish club Málaga FC . He made his debut with the Spaniards on February 27, 2016 in a 1-1 draw against Real San Sebastián with a starting eleven in the Primera División . By the end of the season he had played eight top division games and scored one goal. In the following season 2016/17 he was used in 21 La Liga games (no goal).

In the 2017/18 season , Ricca only played 14 league games for Malaga due to several injuries. At the end of the season, Malaga FC rose to the Segunda División . In the 2018/19 season in the lower division he was used in 37 of 42 games. A direct resurgence of the club failed in the promotion games.

In mid-August 2019, Ricca moved to the Belgian first division club Bruges , where he signed a four-year contract.

National team

Ricca cannot have any international appearances in the various age groups of the junior teams. On May 19, 2015, however, he was initially nominated by coach Fabián Coito for the provisional squad of the U-22s at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto . After all, he was on the final squad and won the tournament with the Celeste.

In 2017 Ricca was part of the squad in several qualifying games of the Uruguayan national team , but was actually not used. On June 4, 2017, he was actually on the pitch in a friendly against Ireland. Three days later in another friendly against Italy there was no use again. Since then, there has been no appointment to the national team.
