Krépin Diatta (born February 25, 1999 ) is a Senegalese football player who has been under contract with the Belgian first division club FC Bruges since January 2018 . The offensive player has been Senegalese international since March 2019 .

Career

Diatta signed a four-year contract with first division team Sarpsborg 08 FF on February 26, 2017 , after playing at Oslo Football Academy in his home country of Senegal . He made his league debut on April 2, 2017 in a 3-1 home win against Sogndal Fotball . On April 26, he scored a three-pack in the 10-1 away win in the cup match against Drøbak-Frogn IL . His first league goal followed on August 13 in a 2-2 draw against Kristiansund BK . At the end of the 2017 season , he had three goals and eight assists in 22 league appearances.

On January 3, 2018, Krépin Diatta moved to the Belgian first division club FC Brugge for a transfer fee of two million euros , where he signed a 4½-year contract. He made his debut on April 8th when he lost 1-0 away to KAA Gent . With eight appearances in the championship round of the 2017/18 season , he made a significant contribution to winning the championship title. In the following season 2018/19 he was used in 23 league games in which he scored two goals.

In August 2019, his contract with Club Bruges was extended until 2024. In this 2019/20 season he played 22 league games, in which he scored six goals and three assists, and became Belgian champions again with the team. He made his first brace for Bruges on August 16, 2020 in a 4-0 win over KAS Eupen .

National team

In 2017 Diatta played for the Senegalese U-20 national team in the U 20 Africa Championship and the U 20 World Championship .

He had his first international match for the senior national team on March 23, 2019. Diatta is part of Senegal's squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and played in all games there. The national team came second in this tournament. He achieved the final score of 2-0 in the opening game against Tanzania .
