Ethan Horvath (born June 9, 1995 in Highlands Ranch , Colorado ) is an American football goalkeeper.

Horvath, who has both US citizenship and Hungarian citizenship, has played for the Belgian first division club FC Brugge since 2017 .

Career

Molde FK

Ethan Horvath comes from Highlands Ranch , Colorado and played for the youth soccer club Real Colorado, which is affiliated with the US Soccer Development Academy.

In 2013 he was discovered and signed by the former Norwegian international and coach of Molde FK, Ole Gunnar Solskjær . Two years later he made his debut in the Tippeligaen . In the 55th minute he replaced Ørjan Nyland . When he later moved to FC Ingolstadt , Horvath became the team's regular goalkeeper.

In January 2017 Horvath moved to Belgium for Club Bruges and celebrated the national championship title with the club in 2018. In the 2019/20 season he was only in the first two league games, before the commitment of Simon Mignolet by Club Bruges in goal. Club Bruges became Belgian champions again this season.

National team

Since the U-14 he played for every youth team in the USSF . In 2015 he was nominated for the 2015 U-20 World Cup , but could not take part because his club had not released him.

In May 2016, Horvath was nominated for the national soccer team of the United States , which will play at the Copa América Centenario 2016 .

On October 7, 2016, Horvath made his debut for the senior national team in a friendly match in Cuba (2-0) .
