Ørjan Håskjold Nyland (born September 10, 1990 in Kristiansund ) is a Norwegian football player . The goalkeeper is under contract with Aston Villa and is a senior international .
Career
societies
Nyland played for Mork IL and Volda TI in his youth . In 2007 he moved to the then third division club IL Hødd , who rose to the second division 1st division that same season . In the 2008 season Nyland came to his first three appearances for the IL Hødd, who relegated again at the end of the season. After two seasons, the promotion to the second division followed again in 2010. In the 2012 season , Nyland won the cup with the club as a second division team .
For the 2013 season Nyland moved to the first division team Molde FK . With the club he won the trophy again in 2013 and 2014 . In the 2013/14 season he played with Molde in qualifying for the Champions League , but failed in the 3rd round at Legia Warsaw . In the 2014 season he won the championship with the team.
For the 2015/16 season , Nyland went to the German Bundesliga club FC Ingolstadt 04 . He signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2019. In Ingolstadt he was initially only second choice behind Ramazan Özcan and made 18 appearances in his first two seasons. After relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga , Nyland was the regular goalkeeper in the 2017/18 season and finished ninth in the table with FC Ingolstadt.
For the season 2018/19 closed Nyland to the English second division club Aston Villa and signed a three-year contract. With the club he rose in his first season via the play-offs in the Premier League .
National team
Nyland played for various youth teams in the Norwegian Football Association . With the U21 national team , he took part in the U21 European Championship in Israel in June 2013 . He was used in three games and reached the semi-finals, in which the team failed 3-0 to eventual European champions Spain .
On November 19, 2013 Nyland made his debut in the 1-0 defeat in the friendly against Scotland in the senior team .
