Wesley Moraes Ferreira da Silva (born November 26, 1996 in Juiz de Fora ) is a Brazilian football player . The striker will be under contract with English first division club Aston Villa from the 2019/20 season .
Career
society
After his father's death, the nine-year-old Wesley began playing soccer in his birthplace, Juiz de Fora , first in the hall and then at the age of 13 on the soccer field at Itabuna Esporte Clube . At the age of 17 he went to Spain and joined the Atlético Madrid U-19s for a year .
At the end of March 2015, 18-year-old Wesley moved to the Slovak first division club FK AS Trenčín after a one-month trial training session . After 18 appearances with six league goals and two games (two goals) in qualifying for the 2015/16 Champions League , he moved to the Belgian first division club Bruges at the end of January 2016 . With the team he became Belgian champion in 2016 and 2018 and won the Belgian Supercup in 2016 . His contract with Club Bruges ran until 2023. He was terminated in the summer of 2019 against payment of a transfer fee.
Moraes moves to the English club Aston Villa at the beginning of the 2019/20 season .
National team
At the beginning of November 2019, Moraes was appointed for the first time by national coach Tite in the A-selection squad for the friendly games against Argentina and South Korea in mid-November . He replaced the injured David Neres . In the game against Argentina on November 15, he came on in the 71st minute for Willian .
