Ezri Konsa Ngoyo (born October 23, 1997 in Newham ) is an English football player . The central defender was trained in London at Charlton Athletic and was hired for the 2019/20 season in Birmingham at Aston Villa in the Premier League .

Career

Charlton Athletic

Trained as a center- back , Konsa began his footballing career at the well-known London amateur youth club Senrab FC before joining Charlton Athletic 's youth division at the age of eleven . The club, which produced well-known professionals such as Joe Gomez and Ademola Lookman from the 1997 year , provided Konsa with a training contract in July 2014. Since this developed well from now on, the first professional contract followed in December 2015. If there were still no tests in the first team in the 2015/16 season , he suddenly found himself permanently in the regular formation in the newly built team after relegation to third-rate League One. After his debut in the league cup 0-1 against Cheltenham Town on August 9, 2016, he played another 38 competitive games in the 2016/17 season . He also benefited from his versatility, also being able to be used as a full-back, as well as from temporary injury concerns in the defense center, such as with Jason Pearce and Patrick Bauer . Konsa signed a new three-year contract with the "Addicks" in March 2017 and he confirmed his position as a regular in the 2017/18 season with 47 competitive appearances. The longed-for promotion was denied Charlton by the play-off semi-final defeat against Shrewsbury Town and only a short time later Konsa left the club in June 2018 for West London for Brentford FC .

Brentford FC

According to media reports, the transfer fee was around 2.5 million pounds and at the second division club Konsa was a regular player in central defense in the 2018/19 season . On the last day of the match he scored his first league goal in a 3-0 win over Preston North End .

Aston Villa

In July 2019 Konsa moved to first division promoted Aston Villa , where he once again joined coach Dean Smith , who had already brought him to Brentford FC.

National team

Konsa, the son of a Congolese father and Angolan mother, played for various English national teams. In 2017 he was in the squad of England's U-20 youth , who won the U-20 World Cup in South Korea . The following year he won the U-21 , the Tournament of Toulon , but are not as previously not gone in the U-20 title on the role of the substitute's. At the U-21 European Championship in 2019 , he was also part of the English squad, but was only substituted in the last game in the group stage against Croatia , which had no sporting significance .
