Ahmed Elmohamady (born September 9, 1987 in Basyun ; Arabic أحمد المحمدي, DMG Aḥmad al-Muḥammadī ) is an Egyptian soccer player currently playing in England for Aston Villa . He is also a member of the Egyptian national team .

Career

His playing career began Elmohamady in the youth team of Ghazl Mahalla and was there in 2004 in the first team. However, he couldn't really assert himself there and only played seventeen games in two years. After the 2005/2006 season, he finally moved to ENPPI, where he caused a stir with his performance and was finally loaned to Sunderland AFC for the 2010/2011 season . In Sunderland he also knew how to convince and was finally committed.

For the Egyptian national soccer team Elmohamady took part in the Confederations Cup 2009 and the African Championships in 2008 and 2010 . He was part of the Egyptian squad at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, in which Egypt was the last in Group A to be eliminated in the group stage after losing to Russia , Uruguay and Saudi Arabia . However, he was not used.
