Charles de Tornaco (* 7. June 1927 in Brussels ; † 18th September 1953 in Modena , Italy ) was a Belgian Formula 1 - racing driver and the son of Raymond de Tornaco .
Career
De Tornaco was registered for Grand Prix with the Ecurie Francorchamps team in the 1952 and 1953 seasons with a Ferrari 500 . He started at the Belgian Grand Prix and the Dutch Grand Prix in 1952. The race in Belgium was the only one where he crossed the finish line, so seventh was his best place in a World Championship run.
On September 18, 1953, de Tornaco died in an accident during the training of the Gran Premio di Modena , which was not part of the World Cup, at the Aerautodromo di Modena .
