Christopher "Chris" John Carpenter (born April 27, 1975 in Exeter , New Hampshire ) is a former American pitcher of Major League Baseball . He played for the St. Louis Cardinals from 2004 until his retirement in 2012 .
Carpenter lives in St. Louis with his wife and two children. He was a graduate of Trinity High School in Manchester.
