Clayton Edward Kershaw (born March 19, 1988 in Dallas , Texas ) is an American baseball player on the pitch for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball (MLB). He first played in the MLB at the age of 20 and was the MLB's youngest pitcher in 2008.

Career

High school and college

Kershaw attended Highland Park High School and played baseball there. There he scored a 13-0 record and almost played a perfect game. He was named High School Player of the Year in USA Today . In the 2006 MLB Draft , Kershaw was selected seventh by the LA Dodgers for a bonus payment of $ 2.3 million.

As a professional

In 2008, Kershaw signed a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers . At the age of 20 he was the youngest player in the MLB. He won his first game against the Washington Nationals .
