Christa Karnath (born November 17, 1956 ) is a former rower from the GDR .

The 1.54 m tall Christa Karnath from SC DHfK Leipzig was the taxwoman of the four with taxwoman , who won the GDR championship title in 1973 and 1974 with the cast of Renate Schlenzig , Sabine Dähne , Angelika Noack , Rosel Nitsche and Karnath. In 1973 Karnath was also eighth to the championship title, and in 1974 and 1975 she was runner-up.

At the European Rowing Championships in 1973 , the GDR four-man with Maria Notbohm , Rosel Nitsche, Angelika Noack, Sabine Dähne and helmsman Christa Karnath took second place behind the four-man from the Netherlands. In 1974 the first rowing world championships in the women's boat classes took place. Schlenzig, Dähne, Noack, Nitsche and tax woman Karnath won the first title in the four.
