Chira Irina Apostol , who married Chira Stoian or Chira Stoean (born June 1, 1960 in Alexeni , Ialomița district ) is a former Romanian rower .

The 1.80 m tall rower first appeared internationally in 1983. At the 1983 World Championships , the Romanian four-man without a helmsman with Florica Lavric , Maria Fricioiu , Chira Apostol, Olga Homeghi and helmsman Viorica Ioja won the silver medal behind the boat from the GDR . The boats from the GDR started like all the athletes from the Eastern bloc due to the Olympic boycott not with the 1984 Olympic Games, only the Romanian team competed in Los Angeles. The foursome in the 1983 line-up won the Olympic gold medal ahead of the Canadians. The Romanian four-man rowed in the same line-up at the 1985 World Championships, behind the GDR and ahead of the Canadians, the boat won the silver medal at the 1985 World Championships . After some changes, the Romanians won the 1986 World Championships with Doina Bălan , Marioara Traşcă , Chira Apostol, Lucia Sauca and Viorica Ioja, ahead of the GDR and Canada.
