Christer Youssef ( Arabic كريستر يوسف; * December 1, 1987 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish football player .

Career

Youssef started playing football at Bromstens IK , from there he moved to the youth department of IF Brommapojkarna . In 2006 he made his debut for the club in the adult division, for the competition team he played 14 games in the Superettan and contributed to promotion to the Allsvenskan with two goals this season . After the direct relegation he remained loyal to the club and became a regular player in the second division season in 2008 . At the side of Joakim Runnemo , Richard Henriksson , Kristoffer Nordfeldt and Pär Asp , he and the team occupied the relegation place to Allsvenskan, with a goal from Philip Haglund in the second leg, the Stockholm club sat down after a 0-0 and 1 goal due to the away goals rule : 1 draw against Ljungskile SK through. At the same time, he had played his way into the Swedish U-21 national team during the season.

However, Youssef changed clubs and joined the first division and local rivals Djurgårdens IF in early 2009 , where he signed a three-year contract. In the following years he fluctuated - partly due to injury - between the various coaches Zoran Lukić , Andrée Jeglertz , Lennart Wass , Carlos Banda and Magnus Pehrsson between the bench and the starting line-up, but was regularly used. However, in early 2011 the club extended its contract prematurely. After he had only come to six league games in the Allsvenskan in the first half of the 2012 season - only one of them in the starting lineup - the club loaned him to the second division Assyriska Föreningen from the end of July until the end of the season . There he was a regular player and played all 14 league games by the end of the season. In early 2013 he moved to Assyriska on a free transfer after his contract at Djurgårdens IF expired. With six goals this season, he made a personal record in the 2013 second division season , with the club he was eighth at the side of Admir Ćatović , Stefan Batan and David Durmaz .

In January 2014, Youssef left Sweden and joined the Cypriot association Aris Limassol , where he signed a working paper that was valid until summer 2015. There he was one of the top performers, by the summer he had scored seven goals this season. Nevertheless, the team missed relegation, whereupon he broke his contract early. However, he was not eligible to play when he reached an employment contract with his former club Assyriska FF in September, as the agreement was made outside of the summer changeover period ending in mid-August . In February 2015, the club finally signed him with the help of external financial support. With six goals in the course of the 2015 season , he contributed to reaching fourth place in the table, but the club was eleven points behind the relegation place occupied by IK Sirius . His contract expired at the end of the season.

On January 31, 2016, Youssef was signed by Hansa Rostock . His contract ran until June 30, 2016 and included an option to extend it, which was not withdrawn.
