Christian "Chris" Billich (born April 16, 1987 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with EHC Freiburg from the DEL2 since 2019 . His younger brother Steven is also a hockey player.

Career

Billich first played at the junior level with Wölfe Freiburg before the left-handed shooter made his professional debut for the German second division team in the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey division during the 2005/06 season . In his first appearance in the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey, Billich scored not only an assist but also a goal against the Tölzer Löwen . In his second senior season in the Freiburg jersey, Billich made his breakthrough at the club, which has meanwhile been relegated to the third division, where he made significant points for the first time during the 2007/08 season. For the DEL season 2008/09 , the attacker was equipped with a support license for the Frankfurt Lions and was on the ice in two DEL games for the Frankfurters during the season, with the left winger remaining unpunished.

Back in Freiburg, the offensive player set new personal records in the 2010/11 season with 23 goals and 34 assists in 48 regular season second division games. As a result, the striker finished second in the team's internal scorer list after the Canadian Dustin Sylvester and was among the top ten players across the league. In the same season, Billich was defeated with the Freiburg team in the relegation and thus rose with the club in the league, due to the license withdrawal, the case followed a short time later in the fourth division. In May 2011, Billich signed a contract for the 2011/12 season with the Heilbronner Falken and thus remained in the second highest division. His team-mate David Danner and his brother Steven Billich also moved to Heilbronn.

Before the 2013/14 season, he moved to the Kassel Huskies in the Oberliga . With the Huskies he achieved promotion from the league to the DEL2 in 2014 , but did not receive a new contract there. Therefore, he returned to his home club.

After four years in Freiburg, Billich switched to the Dresdner Eislöwen within the DEL2 in order to face a new challenge. After a mixed year with the Eislöwen, he returned to the EHC Freiburg for the following season.
