Christian Brembeck (* 1960 in Munich ) is a German organist , harpsichordist , pianist and conductor .

biography

Christian Brembeck studied the organ with Franz Lehrndorfer at the Musikhochschule in Munich and with Petr Eben and Nicholas Danby, after having started autodidactically and winning the Würzburg organ competition in 1981, as well as piano with Gitti Pirner . He completed his studies with the A-exam in church music and the master class diploma from Lehrndorfer.

Since then, Brembeck has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in concert halls and churches in Europe, South America and the Far East, as well as at numerous festivals . From 1986 to 1996 he was a regular guest with the Munich Philharmonic under Sergiu Celibidache .

Since 1987 he has worked repeatedly with the Tölzer Knabenchor and has made numerous guest appearances with them. In 1992 he founded “Parthenia Vocal & Baroque”, an original sound ensemble dedicated to historical performance practice. Most of his ensemble recordings for phonograms result from this period .

In 2000 he started the series “Early Music in Roggenstein” in the Gothic St. George's Chapel Roggenstein and other historic churches in the Fürstenfeldbruck district , of which he has been artistic director ever since.

Brembeck pays special attention to previously undiscovered literature for keyboard instruments from the Baroque period , as well as instruments that are misunderstood and, in some cases, in need of major renovation, are wrongly used only for liturgical service . In June 2009, for example, the Stumm organ in the Catholic Church “Mariä Heimsuchung” in Ommersheim received a corresponding appreciation with the recording “Un Plaisir”. In his concerts of early music Christian Brembeck is not only historic instruments of different origins, but also to muselar, virginal , clavichord and fortepiano heard.

Brembeck's musical versatility is documented in his programs, which range from the Robertsbridge Codex to compositions from the 20th century. Since mid-2000 he has also been imparting his specialist knowledge in organ and instrument building, in style and registration on organ studies excursions and workshops.
