Christian Reinhold von Derschau (born June 30, 1679 in Koenigsberg , † November 4, 1742 in Spandau ) was a Prussian major general , governor of Peitz and Cottbus and a member of the tobacco college .

Life

origin

He came from the Prussian- Kurland noble family Derschau . His father was Christian Wilhelm von Derschau (1652-1725), tribunal councilor in Königsberg.

Military career

Derschau first studied in Königsberg and then went on a two-year trip to England and Holland. He was captured by the French and forced into military service, where he became a lieutenant. In 1700 he was dismissed and went into Prussian service . In 1709 he became General Tettau's adjutant in Holland. He was noticed there by the then Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm , who took him into his regiment . Already on December 12th 1710 Derschau got its own company . On June 8, 1713 he was promoted to major and transferred to the fusilier guard . With her Derschau took part in the fighting in Pomerania .

After the war he was appointed adjutant general to the king. In 1718 he became a lieutenant colonel and in 1728 a colonel in the infantry regiment "von Forcade de Biaix" . In 1730 he accompanied the king to the large camp near Mühlberg . The latter sent him a little later to settle the dispute between the cathedral chapter and the city of Hildesheim . In 1732 he accompanied the king on his trip to Prague . In 1735 during the campaign, Dreschau was with the Prussian troops on the Rhine. In 1738 he went to Holland with the king and in the same year he became chief of the infantry regiment "von Kröcher" . In 1740 he was appointed major general. For his excellent work during the First Silesian War , he was awarded the Order Pour le Mérite . Derschau died of constipation in 1742 and was buried in the crypt of the old Berlin garrison church .

Derschau was a close confidante of the king who repeatedly entrusted him with important tasks. In 1721 he was commissioned to build Friedrichstadt . But also the interrogation of the then Crown Prince Friedrich belonged to it.

family

He was married twice. His first wife was born Geelhaar from Berlin. She probably died shortly after the wedding. On April 12, 1718 he married Louise Charlotte von Sturm, the daughter of Chamber President Johann Sigmund von Sturm (1661-1719). The couple had two sons and four daughters:
