The Christoph-Schrempf-Gymnasium Besigheim (CSGB) is a high school in Besigheim , Ludwigsburg district . The school offers a natural science ( NwT ) and a linguistic profile with Italian and bilingual elements. The grammar school has its roots in the Latin School Besigheim , one of the oldest Latin schools in Württemberg , and with a school history of over 550 years it is one of the oldest schools in Germany .

The high school, located near the Besigheim secondary school, was attended by around 720 students in 2017. The catchment area of the school also includes the neighboring towns of Hessigheim , Mundelsheim , Löchgau , Walheim , Freudental , Gemmrigheim and Ottmarsheim . About 60 percent of secondary school students come from outside the country.

On April 20, 1994, the Besigheimer Gymnasium was named after Christoph Schrempf . The school has awarded the Christoph Schrempf Prize for the best German Abitur since the 1990s . The headmaster is Frank Hielscher.

String class
At the CSG, students interested in music can learn a string instrument and intensify their musical training in a string class (in grades 5 and 6).
School partnerships
The Besigheim grammar school cooperates with partner schools in various countries, for example with Besigheim's partner cities Ay in France and Bátaszék in Hungary . There are also regular student exchange trips to Bitonto in Italy and Newton Abbot in the south-west of England . In addition, good contacts are maintained with the Nanjing Foreign Language School in China .
