Christoph M. Kaiser

Christoph Maria Kaiser (born February 24, 1964 ) is a German film composer , musician and producer .

life and career

In 1988 Kaiser founded the guitar pop group The Jeremy Days as a songwriter and bassist together with Dirk Darmstaedter . The debut album of the same name, released by Polydor Progressive Music in 1988, reached a top 20 position in the German charts, the single Brand New Toy reached number 11. The group existed until 1995, recorded six studio albums and one live album with "Best Of" - Material on.

From 1994 Kaiser worked increasingly as a producer for various labels and bands. Among other things, he produced the Italian-language debut album by the Sicilian singer Etta Scollo as well as albums by Maxim Rad , Holger Hiller , Michel van Dyke , the NDW group Die Zimmermänner and the Berlin electro-pop group Quarks .

In 2000 Kaiser composed his first own film music for the movie Crazy by Hans-Christian Schmid . Christoph M. Kaiser has been working in a team with the composer Julian Maas since 2003 . For their music for the movie The Coming Days they won the 2010 German Film Critics' Prize . In 2015 they were awarded the Günter Rohrbach Film Prize for their music for the film Der Staat gegen Fritz Bauer .

In 2018, both of them received the European Film Prize in the Best Film Music category and the German Film Prize for the film music for 3 days in Quiberon , after they had already received a nomination for Der Staat gegen Fritz Bauer in 2016 .
