Cimoszki is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the rural community Wieliczki ( German  Wielitzken , 1938–1945 Wallenrode ) in the Powiat Olecki ( Oletzko district , Treuburg district 1933–1945 ).

Geographical location

Cimoszki is in the east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , one kilometer west of the border with the Podlaskie Voivodeship , which was the state border between Germany and Poland until 1939 . The district town of Olecko (Marggrabowa , colloquially also Oletzko , 1928–1945 Treuburg) is twelve kilometers to the northwest.

history

There is no evidence of Cimoszki's past. Whether the place was already settled before 1945 and had a German name cannot be proven. It is therefore also possible that the town could only be founded after 1945.

The village of Cimoszki is today the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Polish sołectwo ) and thus a place in the network of the rural community Wieliczki in the Powiat Olecki , until 1998 of the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it belongs to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Religions

Cimoszki is parish in the Catholic parish Cimochy ( German  Groß Czymochen , 1929–1945 Reuss ) in the diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . Protestant church members living here support the parish of Suwałki in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .

traffic

Cimoszki can be reached from the voivodship road DW 655 via Cimochy , from where a side road leads towards Wojnasy . The next train station is Cimochy on the Olecko – Suwałki railway line, which is no longer regularly used .
