Puchowica ( German Friedrichsberg ) is a small village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the rural community of Wieliczki (Wielitzken , 1938 to 1945 Wallenrode) in the Powiat Olecki ( Oletzko district , Treuburg district 1933 to 1945 ).
Geographical location
Puchowica is located in the east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, 14 kilometers southeast of the district town of Olecko (Marggrabowa , colloquially also Oletzko , 1928 to 1945 Treuburg) .
history
In 1874, today's hamlet ( osada in Polish ) and then small town Friedrichsberg was incorporated into the newly established district of Nordenthal ( Nory in Polish ).
His name was renamed in 1938 to “Amts Bezirk Nordental” and existed until 1945 as part of the Oletzko district in the Gumbinnen administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1895 Friedrichsberg had 110 inhabitants. On February 19, 1903, it was incorporated into the neighboring village of Puchowken (1929 to 1945: Wiesenfelde, Polish: Puchówka ).
In 1945 all of southern East Prussia, including Friedrichsberg, became part of Poland and was given the Polish place name "Puchowica". The small town no longer forms a separate town, but it does form the northern part of the town of Puchówka , in which it has merged.

Friedrichsberg was parish up until 1945 in the Protestant Church of Wielitzken in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic parish church of Marggrabowa (Treuburg) in the Diocese of Warmia .
Today Puchowica belongs to the Catholic parish Wieliczki in the Diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant residents stick to the churches in Ełk (Lyck) and Suwałki in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .

Puchowica is located east of the side road Wieliczki - Wysokie and can be reached from Kleszczewo (Kleszöwen , 1936 to 1938 Kleschöwen , 1938 to 1945 Kleschen) via a cul-de-sac. There is also a country road from Puchówka that leads directly into the village.
