Cité Asecna is a district ( French : quartier ) in the Arrondissement Niamey IV of the city of Niamey in Niger .

geography

Cité Asecna is located near Niamey Airport in the east of the Niamey urban area. The Aéroport I and Aéroport II districts connect further to the east . The soils in the district are predominantly rich in iron, which means that no infiltration is possible.

history

The French word Cité means “city”, Asecna is the abbreviation of the pan-African flight safety agency Agence pour la sécurité de la navigation aérienne en Afrique et à Madagascar , of which Niger was a founding member in 1959. The ASECNA operates in Niameyer district plateau since 1963 the training center Ecole Africaine de la Météorologie et de l'Aviation Civile (EAMAC).
