Maouri Windi

Maouri Windi is a hamlet in the Niamey IV arrondissement of the city of Niamey in Niger .

The hamlet is located in the rural municipality of Niamey on a dry valley . The surrounding settlements include the hamlet of Tondi Kiré in the northeast, the hamlet of Kouara Béri in the southeast and the village of Kongou Gonga in the southwest.

The Maouri are an ethnic group resident in the Aréoua countryside in southwestern Niger. Windi in the Songhai-Zarma language refers to the residence of a large family, which consists of several small dwellings.

At the 2012 census, Maouri Windi had 667 inhabitants who lived in 78 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 293 in 45 households.
