Under the name Colli d'Imola (dt. Hill of Imola ) white and red wines are produced in the northern Italian metropolitan city of Bologna ( Emilia-Romagna region ) , which has been a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC), which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

Growing area

Cultivation and vinification are permitted in the municipalities of Fontanelice , Borgo Tossignano , Casalfiumanese , Imola , Dozza , Castel San Pietro Terme and Ozzano dell'Emilia .

Blending wines

  • Colli d'Imola rosso (also called Novello and "Riserva"): made from one or more red grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the Emilia-Romagna region.
  • Colli d'Imola bianco (also called Frizzante and “Superiore”): made from one or more white grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the Emilia-Romagna region.

Almost single origin wines

The specified grape variety must contain at least 85%. A maximum of 15% other analogue grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the Emilia-Romagna region may be added - individually or together.
